Jimi Benson emerge candidate for Ikorodu Federal Constituency election

Barrister Babajimi Benson has emerged as All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate after polling 635 votes to defeat seven other aspirants contesting for Ikorodu Federal House of Representatives’ ticket. Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani Jimoh came second with distance 230 votes followed by Primate Charles Odugbesi who polled 22 votes. Others are Olanrewaju Sanusi, 9 votes, Otunba Fatai Olukoga, 9 votes, Anifowoshe Owolabi, 7 votes, Tahir Andu, 8 votes and Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba who was absence recorded no vote. The reconciliatory meeting ended at 12.09pm and voting proper started at 12.15pm with statutory delegates after which the elected delegates were called upon to cast vote starting with Ijede LGA executives and then wards. Update on APC primary election for Ikorodu Federal Constituency

Disagreement ensued between some aspirants and APC Chairman in Ikorodu, Alhaji Rilwan Jinadu on voting pattern. The electoral committee members and Hon Sanai O.B. Agunbiade started reconciliatory meeting with aspirants and agents. Former Deputy Governor, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye and Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa arrivd the venue at 11.54am and 11.56am respectively. Eight aspirants announced as being cleared by the Electoral committee which are Primate Charles Odugbesi, Babajimi Benson, Olanrewaju Sanusi, Dr Fatai Olajide Olukoga, Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, Anifowoshe Owolabi and Mr Andu Tairu.
