In furtherance to its bid to support the actualisation of the Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA) agenda for the people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), especially in the area of improved security, the HOA Addicts asa group has commenced distribution of solar-powered street lights to streets and communities within the LCDA.
The group – HOA Addicts, a community-focused group, donated and is deploying a total of 10 solar streetlights across communities in IBLCDA, with its sight on deploying 50.
The solar light equipments are not just being donated, but are mounted on poles to provide illumination for areas that are usually in darkness whenever it is night.
Henry Ikuesan and Sheriff Sanni, coordinators of the group’s solar power project, explained that the intervention was initiated in a bid to strengthen security and ensure adequate illumination across Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
”The initiative, which forms part of the group’s continued commitment to the wellbeing of residents and also promotion of the GLORY agenda of the Executive Chairman,Omo’ba Hammed Aroyewun, is aimed at combating insecurity occasioned by poor street lighting, particularly at night, while also improving the general quality of life for residents across the council area.”
”So far, streets that have benefited from the gesture include Talabi Ademola Street, off Akin Ogunlewe Road, in Ward C2, and in front of the Osugbo Palace located on Adeboruwa Street in Ward C1.”
HOA Addicts’ project coordinators added: “The donation has also been extended to other communities within Wards C1, C2, C3 and C4, with the distribution exercise coordinated by the respective Councillors of the recipient wards through their Community Development Associations (CDAs), ensuring that the lights are installed in locations of greatest need within each community.”
Speaking further on the initiative, the group noted that the project aligns with the GLORY Agenda of the Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, further reinforcing the administration’s drive towards a safer and better-illuminated council area.
HOA Addicts also commended IBLCDA Councillors and CDAs for their cooperation and assured residents of more community-driven interventions in the coming months, as part of efforts to complement the Chairman’s ongoing developmental strides across Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.
