The Lagos State Sports Commission has announced the closure of sports facilities and suspended all sporting activities by the State Government from Monday, March 23, 2020, as part of measures to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Edo 2020 Sports Festival Postponed

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has approved the postponement of the National Sports Festival, tagged Edo 2020. The Minister of Sports, Mr Sunday Dare, announced this at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, after a meeting with Buhari. He said the postponement was due to the Coronavirus pandemic, adding the decision was arrived at after “close consultations with the Ministry of Health”. Asisat Oshoala scored twice on Sunday as Barcelona destroyed Real Sociedad 10-1 to win the Spanish Super Copa.
