-As Aroyewun presents agenda on security, other areas

The leadership of The Mandate Movement (TMM) has urged the Chairmanship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun and other candidates, to work together in unity and in the interest of the community when they are eventually elected into offices in the forthcoming Local Government elections.
The candidates, which also included Barr. Ade Ayeni, Vice Chairmanship candidate and the five Councillorship candidates, as part of their consultations, paid a courtesy visit to TMM leadership on Wednesday, at the Apalura residence of the chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council and former Minister for Works, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe.
Sen. Ogunlewe, speaking, charged the candidates to work with one heart and in unity.

He emphasized the importance of education, while lamenting the decline in Igbogbo’s academic excellence and advocated for the revival of scholarship and bursary for students.
He also stressed the need for good governance in various communities, including riverine communities.
Former member, Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Nurudeen Saka Solaja, in his own remarks, urged the candidates to prioritize peace and unity.
He encouraged door-to-door campaigns, and urged members of TMM to canvass for APC and also vote massively for the party.

Barr. Adeboye Dankuwo provided insights on how to transform Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA into the progressive community everyone envisions.
The women’s wing representative, Mrs Muinat, raised concerns about the growing insecurity in the riverine areas, noting its negative impact on residents’ daily lives and businesses.
In his response, Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, the APC Chairmanship flagbearer in lgbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, expressed his profound gratitude to the leadership of the TMM, for supporting his emergence and that of other candidates.

He assured the party leaders that all their concerns have been noted, and also added that some of the issues raised have been captured in his campaign agenda.
“We have listened to your concerns and all that you have raised have been captured in our plan -‘The Glory Agenda.’ This agenda builds on the solid foundation laid by Builder Olusesan Daini who has made our LCDA more conducive for growth and development”, he said.
He highlighted key areas of focus of his agenda which include annual bursary disbursement for students, agricultural cooperative initiative to reduce food prices through transparent process and collaboration, comprehensive data system for the elderly, ensuring monthly support and care, inclusion of both men and women in all development programs and security and anti-kidnapping efforts, particularly in vulnerable communities.

On the annual bursary, Aroyewun noted that he was once a beneficiary of such support and that he is committed to expanding the scheme.
While speaking about security, the chairmanship candidate said that the issue is personal to him because he once lived in the affected areas and that he understands the fear of the affected residents.
“The issue of kidnapping is personal to me, because I once lived in the affected areas. I understand the fear and frustration. I am committed to finding a lasting solution to this crisis. I am aware that critical steps are being taken by Hon Babajimi Benson, member, House of Representatives, in collaboration with our incumbent Chairman, Builder Olusesan Daini, and his Ijede LCDA counterpart, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo. I will do well to consolidate on these efforts and will not rest until safety returns to that axis”, he assured.

Aroyewun appreciated the contributions of national and state leaders, including President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Senator Mikhail Abiru, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, and Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun, especially for their efforts in improving road infrastructure and other infrastructures across the LCDA.
He also assured the leaders and party members that he would improve on road networks, and ensure that CDA do not have to rent grader again to stabilize their roads.
“We won’t make promises we cannot keep, but we assure you of our commitment to deliver on every plan with integrity and action. Let us ensure massive voters’ turnout and resounding victory for the APC”, he said.
