Ahead of the January 2027 General Elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has continued to release the final lists for Presidential, National Assembly, State Governorship and Assemblies candidates that are cleared to contest.
The release which started with the list of Presidential candidates and their vice on Saturday, was followed by the final list of National Assembly candidates on Sunday
The Presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled for January 16, 2027, while the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections are scheduled for February 6, according to the commission’s official election timetable.
The final presidential list which was signed by INEC Secretary Rose Oriaran-Anthony, indicates 18 political parties will field candidates in the January 2027 Presidential election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of candidates for the 2027 National Assembly elections, with 4,408 candidates cleared to contest seats in the Senate and House of Representatives. While there are 1,195 candidates contesting for the Senate; 3,213 are vying for seats in the House of Representatives.
The composition of the National candidates comprises of 3,965 male candidates and 443 female candidates.
In Lagos State, 184 candidates are cleared by the INEC to contest for the House of Reps’ seats across the 24 federal constituencies and 36 Senatorial candidates for the 3 Senatorial Districts.
Meanwhile, 435, 418 electorate in Ikorodu federal constituency will be making choices from among the 18 Presidential candidates, 8 Senatorial candidates contesting for the Lagos East seat and 8 House of Representatives candidates vying for the Ikorodu Federal Constituency seat.
