The Chairman, Oni Ogunsanya/Kutere Community Development Association (CDA), Prince Adebola Adeyinka Ajasa, has donated a borehole water system to the residents of Aga community, to address the challenge being faced whenever there is power outage.
The water project, which has multiple taps and which will be powered by generator set, will also serve as a source of revenue for the CDA, through an extension which provides space for washing of commercial motorcycles, popularly known in local parlance as Okada.
Prince Ajasa, who said that aside his personal project, his administration will also be embarking on more projects, while emphasising that the borehole water project will address the challenges being faced by residents whenever there is power outage for days.

He spoke with THE IMPACT at Aga, when our reporter visited the location of the project which will be commissioned soon.
“I have lived in this area since I was young, and I’ve noticed that whenever there is a power outage from NEPA ( now PHCN) for a couple of days, the major challenge our community faces is access to water.
“So, the CDA executives sat down and discussed the services we could provide to ease the difficulties that our people usually faced. I decided, as the person in charge of this community, to start the ball rolling by making a personal contribution to my community”, the community leader said.

He further stated that:
“The water project is one of the outcomes of that decision, and by God’s grace, more projects are still coming. People are happy because the project has been completed. We are just waiting for the official commissioning so that residents can start enjoying it”.
Speaking on his experiences as the CDA Chairman, he described it as a worthwhile one, while also stating some of the achievements under his administration.
“Well, it’s been a long journey, and the journey has been fantastic so far. I have never been in this kind of position before; to be at the helm of a community and cater for the needs of the people while also looking out for the things that are needed in the community. This is my first time, and the journey has been good so far. Thank God.

“First of all, before I came on board, the system on the ground was porous. Whenever we had electricity issues with the neighboring communities, some people would begin extorting money from residents to solve those problems.
“Since we came on board, we have ensured that it is only the monthly levy we receive from residents that is used to solve most of the problems confronting the community. We no longer need to ask people for extra money. That has been one of our achievements”.
He added that: “There had never been money saved for the community, and there was no bank account. We have now put all these structures in place for the smooth running of the administration and our community”.

While thanking residents of his CDA for their support so far, Prince Ajasa also assured them of his administration’s commitment to bringing necessary projects and developments to the community.
“The good people of Oni Ogunsanya/Kutere CDA, have been fantastic. They have supported the CDA from the very beginning, and I sincerely thank them for that.
“I want to assure them that we are still on course. Whatever projects and developments are needed, we are working on them, and by the grace of God, this administration will deliver”, he assured.
