Ikorodu Youth Initiatives Sets To Elect New Officers, Reiterates It’s Non – Partnership

The Board of Trustees of the largest youth group in Ikorodu Division of Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, the Ikorodu Division Youth Initiatives (IDYl), has informed the general public, especially youths, that it has dissolved the Executive Management Council of the organization.

It has also stated that applications to fill available positions will soon be announced for interested youths to vie for.

These were contained in a statement signed last Sunday by Mr Sola Sokoya, Secretary, Board of Trustees, adding that IDYI is committed to ensuring that Ikorodu youths attain greater heights among the commity of youths in Lagos State, Nigeria and globally.

According to him, “We wish to reiterate:

“That we wish to affirm that Ikorodu division Youth Initiatives is a not-for- profit, non-governmental, non-partisan organization which core objectives are to promote youth inclusiveness, active youth participation and community service.

“That in commitment to integrity as our core value, we are sensitive to our mandate, and always operate according to the law establishing us.

“That all serving members of the Executive Management Council have completed a tenure of two calendar years as enshrined in our constitution.

“That the joint meeting of the Board of Trustees and Executives have resolved to dissolve the Executive Management Council.

“That application for expression of interest to fill the vacant positions will soon be made public.

“Finally, we remain focused and committed to our mandate (youths and community service), striving to bring Ikorodu Division to an enviable height in the league of Divisions of Lagos State”, the statement added.
