-Alhaji Fatai Ogunfodunrin, many others to return unopposed
Just as the delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), are getting ready for the Chairmanship and Councilorship primaries, members of various clubs and associations in Ikorodu are also getting set to elect new executives into various offices of the Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS).
The election is slated for tomorrow, Saturday, May 10, at the Ikorodu Town Hall.
The new executives that would emerge from the elections to replace the outgoing IKODASS executives led by Asiwaju Rotimi Erogbogbo , after two terms of two years each,would be sworn in on Sunday.
All the candidates have been screened and cleared to contest the elections.
While the former Deputy Chairman of IKODASS, Alhaji Kolaeole Fatai Ogunfodunrin representing the Ikorodu Harmony Brothers Club, will be returning unopposed, the positions of the Deputy Chairman and the Vice Chairman are going to be contested for.
Mr Idowu Ahmed Ademayowa of The Blissful Family will go into a contest with Mr Iluyombo Olusegun Olasunkanmi of The Exclusives Club.
For the position of the Vice Chairman, Alhaji Anifowoshe A.B. Olorunrinu is seeking to be elected against a former chieftain of IKODASS and former NULGE Chairman, Comrade Okeowo Kehinde Olusola, representing Women of Substance.
Those that are unopposed are Mr Elemuren Rasheed Adesola of The Achievers Enlightenment Associations returning for the position of the General Secretary, Mr Shakioye Olatunji Seun, representing The Noble Knight Club Of Nigeria, also returning as the Assistant General Secretary.
Dr. Disu Samson Adewale, representing the Congregates Club, is also seeking to be re -elected unopposed as Treasurer, while Mr Ogunsanya Temitayo Adejumo of the Irorun Social Circle who is unopposed, is vying for the position of the Social Secretary.
Also unopposed are Oke Aderonke (Egbe Gbogeniyi Of Ikorodu Kingdom), Assistant Social Secretary, Okematti Azeez Adebola (The Prosper Clique Of Ikorodu) as Welfare Officer and Mr Osikoya Oba Oludare (Development Platform) for the position of the Publicity Secretary.
Mr Rashidi Lukman Adio (Oriwu Quality Club) is also the sole candidate for the position of the Auditor, while Mr Kolawole Olabisi (G4 Committee Of Friends) is seeking to return as the Legal Adviser and Adeyemi Abiona (Egbe Tobalese of Ikorodu) is vying for the position of the Financial Secretary.
For the four available executive positions, eight candidates have signified interests to contest for the positions. They are Bello Kemi (Nashco), Alejo Jamiu Okolawon (Elite Gathering Club), Tijani Simbiat Ajokeade (Kikiewa Social Club), Jimoh Aishat Oluwadamilare (The Eminent ORG. Club), Fatunde Omoshola Olawale (Ikorodu Guild Club), Adedipe Taiwo Hassan (Oasis Club Of Ikorodu), Solebo Kafayat (Egbe Bobakeye Of Ikorodu Land) and Shitta Folake.
Others also contesting are Soderu Yomi Samuel National Youth Council(Ikorodu west) Youth Representative, Saka Rashidat Oluwatoyin (CDC Ikorodu L.G), Community Representative, Oreagba Kehinde Waheed, Market Men and Women Associations (Market Representative).
