The emergence of Hon. Ola Ameen Apanisile as the consensus candidate for the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in the forthcoming council elections in Ikorodu North LCDA, has been further consolidated as five other aspirants stepped down for him.

The feat was achieved on Friday, at the party secretariat in Ikorodu North LCDA during a meeting brokered by the outgoing council chairmen, Bulder Adeola Banjo, and the party chairman, Otunba Tijani Olasunkanmi who himself was a former aspirant before adopting Apanisile as candidate.

Other aspirants that adopted Hon. Apanisile are Hon. Mathew Adesanya, Mr Sesan Odueyigbo, Dr. Samson Bisiriyu, Mrs Taibat Shoaga and Hon. Opeyemi Taiwo

Also at the meeting was Alhaji Jimoh Odidi, the Vice Chairman, APC Ikorodu North LGA.

Meanwhile, Hon. Kunle Ogunbela, a former Council Chairman, and Prince Eniola Jokotex are the other aspirants that are not at the meeting.

Hon. Jokotex, in particular, is still actively appealing to delegates to support and vote for him which implies that he is not in support of any consensus.

An aide of Hon. Ogunbela in a message last night, also informed our reporter that his principal is not a party to any consensus candidate.
