JB Denies Endorsement Of A Candidate For Ikorodu Constituency I

‎The representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson (JB) , has denied claim that he has endorsed a particular aspirant as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu Constituency I.

‎Rep. Benson stated that the selection of candidates of the ruling party shall be through consensus or the direct primary, a process he said he would also be part of as an aspirant.

‎The three – term lawmaker, describes the rumour of any endorsement by him as false and therefore should be totally disregarded .

‎About 10 aspirants including the incumbent, Hon .  Gbolahan Ogunleye, are vying for the sole Ikorodu Constituency I seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly on the platform ofthe APC.

‎”For the record, any claim or insinuation suggesting that I have endorsed a particular candidate in Ikorodu Constituency 1 is completely false and should be disregarded.

‎”As a responsible party man, I remain committed to the unity and internal democracy of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“To the best of my understanding, the selection of candidates shall be through direct primaries Or by Consensus where possible, a process to which I myself shall be subject.”

‎He pledged that he would support any candidate picked through his party’s primary elections.

‎”Thus, at the appropriate time, when the party has concluded its nomination process and a candidate emerges, I will fully SUPPORT and work with whoever is duly chosen, ” he said
