Council Begins Demolition Of Distressed Adeboruwa Palace

The demolition of what used to be Adeboruwa palace

The demolition of the Adeboruwa Palace of the ancient Igbogbo Kingdom in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, begun on Sunday.

His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, had last week called for the support of the Lagos State Government in the rebuilding of the distressed palace when the members of the Lagos State House of Assembly committee on Works and Infrastructures visited the palace during the committee’s tour of the ongoing construction of roads in Igbogbo.

THE IMPACT reported that the council has had a plan to demolish the threatening structure and rebuild it.

The removal of the roof and other things were carried out on Saturday, while the demolition of the structure commenced on Sunday.

It was witnessed by the Adeboruwa and members of his council led by the Odofin of Igbogbo, Odofin Tajudeen Onasanya.

It was gathered that the Builder Sesan Daini led administration in Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA has earmarked over N400million for the rebuilding of the palace which is expected to be completed before the end of his administration.
