Hon. Benson Facilitates Agura-Gberigbe Road Rehabilitation

Relief may be coming the way of residents and other road users in the Agura/Gberigbe axis of the Ikorodu division as the road, which has been completely collapsed for many years and inflicting untoward hardship on the users, is set for rehabilitation.

THE IMPACT gathered that the rehabilitation is being facilitated by no other person than the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Benson.

A source informed our reporter that the two – term lawmaker who has been lobbying for the rehabilitation of the road and other projects in his constituency, got the assurance yesterday that work will commence on the road in March.

Also speaking with Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, a chieftain of the iCare Foundation, the lawmaker’s operational platform, also confirmed the development to THE IMPACT.

“Well, it is being facilitated by Hon. Babajimi Benson as one of his constituency projects.

“It is will commence immediately after the completion of Igbe road by the end of February or early March this year”.

When THE IMPACT finally got in touch with Hon. Babajimi Benson late Wednesday (yesterday) night on the phone, the lawmaker confirmed to our reporter that the rehabilitation work will commence by the end of March.

“Hopefully, the road rehabilitation will start by the first quarter, which is March”, Hon. Benson confirmed THE IMPACT.

“They said that the road is about 6km or so, but they are still coming to measure it for accuracy. They also said the rehabilitation work will commence in March”.

The lawmaker said that he facilitated the rehabilitation through lobbying necessary channels at the federal level while also clarifying the issue of constituency projects.

He explained that constituency projects are about 45 Million naira per state and that the sum is usually shared among the number of representatives representing a particular state in the house.
