Ikorodu Teachers Get Eye Glasses As New Year Gifts

Some of the medicated glasses meant for teachers in Ikorodu.

The first set of teachers that were screened last December during the medical outreach by the Ikorodu Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) will get their medicated glasses by February 2 this year as New Year gifts.

Comrade Fakolade Oluwafemi, Chairman, Ikorodu NUT,while speaking with THE IMPACT, said that both serving and retired teachers are part of the 50 beneficiaries that will be presented with the glasses at the NUT House in Ikorodu.

“Today (Friday), we took delivery of 50 Eye Medicated Glasses. The free glasses will be distributed to 50 serving and retired teachers that were tested last year December by our team of Opticians”, Comrade Fakolade stated.

“This is just a token New Year gifts from NUT Ikorodu to our lovely teachers for their dedication and loyalty to our great Union.

“The Presentation will be done on the 2nd of February, 2021, at theTeachers House, Ikorodu by 3.00pm.

The number one teacher in Ikorodu also said that another set of teachers who had their eyes screened last year will also be presented with their medicated gasses in March.

“Another set of teachers will receive  theirs by March 2021”, he said.

He assured teachers in Ikorodu that his administration is determined to make desired impacts on their lives.

The union last week facilitated sales of household products like Solar TV, Blender, Mattress among others for teachers  who are expected to pay within six to nine months.
