Lagos CP, Ikorodu Traditional Rulers, Stakeholders Set To Chart Way Out Of Insecurity

There seems to be gradual right steps being taken in the right direction regarding the disturbing state of security in Ikorodu Divisional area of Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, occasioned by the unfortunate and frequent cult attacks and killings and other criminal activities have turned the division to a dreaded abode.

In an attempt to address the menace, the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, is expected to visit Ikorodu on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, for a high profile meeting with the entire traditional rulers and major stakeholders in the division at the Ikorodu Town hall.

To this end, the Ikorodu –Oga Development Association (IKODASS ) has invited all the clubs and associations in lkorodu to discuss and proffer solutions to the insecurity confronting the community.

According to a release signed by the General Secretary, Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Mr Pelaiye Jamiu Okanlawon, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Shotobi, has given approval for the invitation of two representatives each from clubs and associations to the security parley.

“Following the spate of killings arising from various shades of criminalities and cultism which have in recent times made lkorodu Division a dreaded place to visit, reside or transact business, it has become imperative for us all to chart a new course that would avert recurrence of all forms of nefarious activities within lkorodu Division and its environs”, the statement said.

“To this end, the Commissioner for Police in Lagos State,  Mr  Hakeem Odumosu, will be officially visiting lkorodu with all the Kabiyesis in the division  in attendance as well as other Stakeholders in which your club/organization is seen as one interested entity,  to discuss the raging issue of insecurity and by extension, proffer solutions to same”,the statement added.

“Consequently, I have the approval of the Ayangbure  of lkorodu, Oba Engr Kabiru Adewale Shotobi (GCIO), to invite two members from your Club/ Organization to a meeting on Wednesday,  27th January, 2021, at the Ikorodu Town Hall at 10am propmt.

“It is to be noted that Covid – 19 protocols will be strictly observed as no guest would be allowed entry into the hall without a nose mask.

“The security of our division is a collective responsibility. Let us join hands to bring back the fast fading glory of our Division. May God help us as we also help ourselves in this Security crusade by taking positive actions towards stemming the tide of pervasive insecurity in this division of Lagos State”,the cultural association charged.
