Four In Final Battle For AMA Snooker Championship’s Star Prize

A winner will, on Sunday, August 9, 2026, emerged in the maiden AMA Snooker Championship initiated and sponsored by the representative of Ikorodu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), after about four weeks of intense competition among the 32 participanting players.

The last 4 players – Ege, Ilaje, Festus and Abass Okiki, will be playing the semi -final matches at Super Mario Snooker Board, Igbe.
While Ege will confront Ilaje, Festus will square up with Abass Okiki.

Winners in the two semi -finals will play in the grand final to determine the winner of the star prize and the first runner-up, at the same venue, while the two losers will contest for the third and fourth places.

Winner of the tournament will go home with ₦500,000, while the first runner-up will pocket ₦300,000 and second runner-up will get ₦200,000. According to the organisers at the beginning of the championship, five best behaved players who exhibited good sportsmanship throughout the championship will receive ₦100,000 each.

It would be recalled that the AMA Snooker Championship kicked-off with Round 1 at Oke -Eletu, with 32 players, while only 16 progressed to Round 2 at Imota, and the players were further reduced to 8 that played the Round 3 in Igbogbo.

The snooker championship is one of the numerous sporting events initiated and sponsored by the Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), towards engaging the residents, particularly the youths in the three council areas in his constituency.
