The leadership of the Ikorodu Division Youth Assembly has formally declared its full support for the continuous representation of Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, as the honourable representative representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
In a statement issued on behalf of the youth body by Toluwalope David Eyikogbe, the Assembly noted that its decision is grounded in a comprehensive assessment of Rep Benson’s performance, particularly his sustained investments in infrastructure, human capital development, and youth empowerment across Ikorodu Division.
The Assembly commended the lawmaker’s contributions to infrastructural development, highlighting several road construction and rehabilitation projects that have improved connectivity and eased movement within communities. It also referenced his intervention in the health sector, including the provision of hospital beds in Imota, which has strengthened healthcare delivery at the grassroots.
In the education sector, the group acknowledged Benson’s role in the construction and renovation of classrooms across the constituency, describing the interventions as critical to improving the learning environment for students.
A major highlight of the endorsement is the lawmaker’s iCare Foodbank initiative, which the youth assembly described as a “consistent and impactful social intervention” since its inception in 2015. According to the statement, the programme has provided food relief to thousands of vulnerable households, demonstrating a sustained commitment to social welfare.
The youth body further praised Benson’s targeted support for young people, particularly his scholarship and financial assistance programmes for law students, as well as entrepreneurship initiatives designed to equip youths with practical skills and startup support. It added that numerous beneficiaries have also gained access to job opportunities through his facilitation, contributing to economic inclusion within the constituency.
“Hon. Babajimi Benson has demonstrated a rare blend of legislative effectiveness and grassroots impact. His consistency over the years and his deliberate focus on youth development make him a worthy representative of the people of Ikorodu,” the statement read.
The Ikorodu Division Youth Assembly therefore called on residents, especially young people, to support his re-election bid, emphasising the need for continuity in representation to sustain ongoing projects and expand developmental gains.
The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising youths across the division in support of Rep Benson, expressing confidence that his continued leadership will further advance the socio-economic progress of Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
