Community Development: Ikorodu Honours Gov’s Special Adviser, Dr Nurudeen Agbaje With Excellence Award

The Ikorodu -Oga Development Association (IKODASS) has conferred an Award of Excellence on Dr Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Rural Development at the ongoing celebration of the 34th Ikorodu -Oga Carnival.

The award was presented to him by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, in recognition of his dedication, commitment, passion and outstanding contributions to community development.

He was honoured during the Community & Transporters Day which held at the Ayangbure Palace on Monday as part of the annual celebration.

Oba Shotobi in his royal remarks commended CDAs/CDCs in Ikorodu for their outstanding performances at the state level.over the years.

The royal father commended the Dr Agbaje for all that his doing with his office, describing him as his proud son and ambassador of Ikorodu.

Dr Agbaje speaking at the ceremony appreciated the Ikorodu monarch for his steadfastness and commitment to the development of Ikorodu.

He commended Oba Shotobi’s clamour for Ikorodu for Governor in 2027 adding that there is need to have sons and daughters of the kingdom in top positions in the civil service.

Accepting the award, Dr Agbaje said he was only doing the bidding of the Governor of Lagos State Mr Babajide Sanwo- Olu in ensuring that rural parts of the state are developed and thanked IKODASS for honouring him for his efforts in contributing to good governance in the state.

He lauded IKODASS for the status that the body has taken the Ikorodu -Oga Day Celebration to this year.

Dr Agbaje enjoined the CDA/CDC chieftains and the general residents of Ikorodu to be prepared for the 2025 Community Day coming up later this month.

At the ceremony were traditional chiefs, chieftains of Community Development Associations (CDAs) and Community Development Committee (CDCs) and those of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).
