The last moments of the late Baba Ijo of the United African Methodist Church Cathedral, Igbogbo, Elder (Chief ) Abayomi Oyebola Okusanya, has been described as a beautiful moment with all his children.
Mr Tunde Okusanya, the third child of the late community and religious leader, also said that the moment was a rare privilege for the seven children as they had the opportunity to give thanksgiving and shared fond memories together.
He spoke with the Publisher/Reporter – in – Chief of THE IMPACT, when he paid a condolence visit to the home of Okusanya in Igbogbo.

Late Okusanya, who died at 4.40am on Thursday, we gathered, summoned his children who had planned to be with him on Sunday to see him on Wednesday and they all did. They had thanksgiving together as reflected in the video which was shared by his son on his Facebook handle.
He was seen in the video asking his eldest child, Mrs Kemi Kalesanwo, Director, Agency for Mass Literacy, Lagos State, to drink from a cup of water after prayer and shared it with her siblings according to their seniority.

“It was a beautiful timeout. He had a very good moment with all the seven children. We gave thanksgiving and prayed together.
“We were all with him on the eve of his demise. He was even telling me that it’s time for him to go, but I wasn’t comprehending what he was saying very well until he left.
“He breathed his last at 4.40am the next morning (Thursday)”,Tunde said.
He also recalled an encounter with his late dad two days ago when the late Elder Okusanya paid an unscheduled visit to the youngest Okusanya’s flat.

“Just two days ago, he came into my flat to warn me in Yoruba proverb, “Eyin ti aja fi nba omo e sere lo n fi n geje” (Dogs bite his children just the way he bit them when playing).
“He was actually expressing his reservation at a perceived conception that I had not performed a task that my mother requested of me. Instantly, I called the man responsible for the task on several occasions in his presence to let him know that I wasn’t at fault.
“When I told the man yesterday that he had passed on, he couldn’t believe it”, Tunde said.
