The Ikorodu -born young table tennis professional, Kuti Matthew, popular called “Mr President” by teeming supporters across Africa was back in his good form today as he won gold medal in the 2026 U 19 tournament of the International Table Tennis Federation Africa.
Kuti defeated a co – Nigerian, Sultan Agunbiade 4 – 1 in the final, to claim the title at the 2026 ITTF Africa Youth Cup in Accra, Ghana.
The response by Kuti and the victory recorded earned the Nigerian prodigy its only gold medal at this year’s ITTF Africa Youth Championship.
ITTF Africa President, Mr Wahid Oshodi commended the displays by young African players in the last one week at the championship, stating that Africa is on the right track with its performance.
He added that the next generation of African table tennis players across many countries on the continent have proved their talents.
