The state All Progressives Congress (APC) will officially kick – off campaigns for the 2025 Local Government elections with presentation of flags to candidates that emerged across the 57 LGAs and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state.
The presentation of candidates along with the symbolic handing over of flags to candidates is slated for the state secretariat of the party, ACME, Ikeja on Tuesday, June 17th.
In a statement by the Lagos APC spokesperson, Mogaji Oluseye Oladejo, it was said the leadership of the party across the local governments have been asked to set up campaign committees for the upcoming elections.

“The campaign has been de-centralised along the three Senatorial districts of Lagos East, Central and West which have been broken into two because of its size.
“The flag-off ceremony will be witnessed by party chieftains , elected and appointed officials of the party across the three tiers of government.
The party had earlier directed its leadership in the local governments to put in place Local Organising Committees – LOC- to take the campaign to all the nooks and crannies of the state to ensure effective and massive mobilization,” he said.

The APC spokesperson said the party would base its campaign on achievements of the outgoing council administrations.
He also urged residents across the councils in the state to come out to vote on the election day.
“The APC campaign will focus on the various unprecedented landmark achievements of the out-going governments in the councils, the numerous timely social interventions and the promise to do more in tandem with the party’s progressive philosophy.

We wish to seize this opportunity to urge all voters to endeavour to perform their civic responsibility on the day of the elections to further grow our nascent democracy.
The campaign will end a day before the elections in accordance with the extant laws,” he said.
It will be recalled that the Chairmanship, Vice Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates of the party in the 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs and 377 wards had earlier emerged during its primaries in May.
