The reconciliation moves to bring every All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholder on board in Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), continued on Tuesday, with apex leaders of the party facilitating meeting of the Chairmanship, Vice Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates with former aspirants.
Recall that the apex leaders at Asiwaju Basorun’s house, last week met with the Chairmanship candidate, Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), where they adopted him and pledged support for his election.

At the meeting yesterday, which again held at the Asiwaju Olorunfumi Basorun’s house in Igbogbo, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Hon. Gbenga Oshin, former Assembly member, Hon. Gbenga Basanya, former Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Hon. Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa, former Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Hon. Sefiu Ogunyemi, former Council Leader, Ikorodu LG, Chief (Mrs) Bolanle Basorun, former Sole Administrator, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Alhaji Benson, APC chieftain, Pastor Ola Ayetoba, former Chairman, APC Igbogbo/Baiyeku LGA, Builder Sesan Daini, outgoing Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and Hon. Nurudeen Alimi, outgoing Councillor/Council Leader, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.

The APC chairmanship candidate, Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA) led other candidates that include Barr. Ade Ayeni, Secretary to the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA/Vice Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Basirat Banjoko, Deputy Leader, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA legislative arm/Councillorship candidate (Ward C1), Hon. Hakeem Solawon, Councillorship candidate (Ward C2), Hon. Saidat Adeoba, Councillorship candidate (Ward C3), Hon. Yussuf Bello, Councillorship candidate (Ward C4) and Hon. Adekunle Anifowoshe, Councillorship candidate (Ward C5).
Leading chairmanship aspirants that attended the meeting were Hon. Ade Bolowotan, Chief of Staff to the outgoing chairman, Mr Shakiru Seidu, publisher, MegaXpression, Mr Nasril Andu – Balogun, proprietor, Andus D’Great Schools and Pastor Abayomi Adelakun among others, while Mr Taofeek Ipaye, Mr Alliu Hassan and a few others were some of the councillorship aspirants in attendance.

THE IMPACT gathered that the apex leaders pleaded with the aspirants that were not picked as candidates to accept the party’s decision and mobilise their supporters and residents for the candidates and the party to ensure victory at the July 12 LG elections.
It was also learned that the party’s candidates were charged on the need to embrace the aspirants and other party members in the build up to the election and when their government is eventually constituted.
Our reporter gathered that the chairmanship candidate, Aroyewun who spoke on behalf of other candidates thanked the party for the trust reposed in them to have picked them as the party’s flag bearers.

He assured aspirants that they would not discriminate against them but embrace them to work together in unity and for the victory of the party.
Aroyewun also assured the party leaders that his government would be a participatory and inclusive one.
After the meeting, the Chairmanship candidate led other candidates on a courtesy visit to the Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Builder Daini, at the council secretariat.

According to a statement by the media team of the Vice Chairmanship aspirant, Barr. Ade Ayeni, he said that the visit to the chairman established collaboration between the outgoing and the incoming administration.
The visit underscored a renewed era of collaboration between the incoming team and the current administration. Discussions focused on continuity, inclusive governance, and shared responsibility for sustainable development.
The candidates praised Chairman Daini’s exemplary leadership and pledged to build on his achievements while introducing innovative ideas for the benefit of the LCDA.

The statement also added that the meeting with the chairman also provided an avenue to discuss how to mobilise residents to come out in their large numbers to vote for the APC candidates “Importantly, the visit also served as a rallying call to the good people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA to actively participate in the upcoming July 12 local government elections by exercising their democratic right to vote. Residents are further urged to vote massively for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the general election to ensure continued progress and development in the LCDA,” the statement added
