The incoming Chairman of the Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Alhaji Kolawole Fatai Olayiwola Ogunfodunrin, has set his target when he takes over the mantle of leadership of the umbrella body of all clubs, associations and societies in lkorodu.

Alhaji Ogunfodunrin, who was a former Deputy Chairman of the association recognized by the Lagos State Government and which is saddled with the responsibilities of organizing the annual Ikorodu -Oga Day Carnival, said that his target is to beat the record of performance of his to be predecessor, Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo.

He spoke with THE IMPACT at the commissioning of a block of six classrooms, 12 toilets and an administrative block which were fully rehabilitated and upgraded by the outgoing administration of Erogbogbo, last week.

“The Ikorodu people should expect that I will be taking IKODASS to the next level being an experienced man who has been a Deputy Chairman of the association before. I have other programmes that would make Ikorodu great again.

“We want to turn that ‘Woro’ procession into a carnival. We want a situation whereby people from all over the world will be coming for the Ikorodu festival”, he said.

He lauded the outgoing Chairman, Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, for his achievements in IKODASS, which he said he would like to surpass.

“He has performed wonderfully well. In fact, I am looking forward to seeing how I am going to beat his record, and with what I have seen, I need to double my efforts and work hard to be able to do that.

“I give him kudos because he has really tried and made his marks”.

Alhaji Ogunfodunrin charged members of the affiliated associations, clubs and societies to endeavour to attend the IKODASS elections slated for Saturday, May 10.

The executives elected at the elections would run the affairs of the association between 2025 and 2027, and will be sworn – in on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
