Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani Pledges Progressive Development In Ikorodu North LCDA

A Chairmanship aspirant in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, has pledged that there would be a progressive development in the council if he is elected.

Tijani, who was a former acting chairman of the council, and at the moment doubled as the chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Ikorodu North LGA and that of the Ikorodu Division, gave the pledge on Friday when the youths of Isiu hosted him to an homecoming in support of his aspiration.

At the event, which took place at the Isiu town hall, on Friday, the organizers pledged their support for Otunba Tijani’s aspiration.

Otunba Tijani, speaking at the gathering, expressed his appreciation to the Isiu youths for organising the home coming to show love and support for him and his aspiration.

He promised the entire Ikorodu North LCDA residents to expect good governance that would bring lots of developments.

“So, I came here today to talk to them and appreciate them.

“The people of Isiu and the entire Ikorodu North LCDA should expect the best from me.

“I intend to do more than what I did when I was the acting chairman in the council, and make the people of Ikorodu North LCDA achieve the purpose that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, created the LCDAs for, which is to take charge of the grassroots and bring about development. That is what we are going to do.

“We are going to make sure that everybody enjoys good governance.

“We will continue where Banjo and Jokomba stopped. They tried their best and we shall take it from there to another height”, Otunba Tijani pledged.

While he further pledged developmental projects and programmes, Otunba Tijani warned against those that he called the underdogs that are being allowed to manage the council.

“We don’t want Ikorodu North LCDA to be governed by the underdogs.

“Under our administration, there will be more good things and progressive developments, projects and programmes that would take the council to the zenith”, he said.

Hon. Ayo Adekoya, Council Leader, Ikorodu North LCDA, speaking at the reception, called for support for the aspirant whom he commended for being the stabilizing factor in Ikorodu North LCDA.

“This is a homecoming for our son and we must support him. It is only when we support him that we can reap the benefit of his Chairmanship.

“That there is no crisis in between the legislators and the executives in Ikorodu North LCDA in the last eight years is due to Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani ‘s leadership. He always intervened to settle whatever the issue is”.

A supervisor in Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon. Ogunbela, also pledging his support for Otunba Tijani, described him as a builder who has made many youths.

“Hon. Tijani has made history in Ikorodu North LCDA through his activities and contributions. He is the one that made me a supervisor.

“He has known me for a long time and I have been under his tutelage and training, and he has never disappointed. It is time to support a person that has made many of us”, he said.

Hon Ogunbela also said that the aspiration of Otunba Tijani is strategic to the development of Isiu as a community.

“In Ikorodu North LCDA, we must be strategic with the choice that we are going to make out of the lots that are aspiring, because we know who can do it. Let’s follow the one that can do it.

“We, the people of Isiu, have to be wise in our decision making to sustain the improved economic, social and political developments that we have been witnessing in recent times”.

Many others that spoke at the event also eulogised Otunba Tijani and pledged their support for him.

Also at the homecoming reception for Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, were Hon. Niyi Odugbesi, Secretary to the Ikorodu North LCDA, Dr. Haruna Ishola, former Vice Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Chief Imam Ikorodu North LCDA and Baales among others.
