The umbrella body of all clubs and associations in Ikorodu and the body saddled with the responsibilities of organizing the annual Ikorodu – Oga Day Carnival – Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS) has announced date for the elections of new executive members.
The election date is scheduled for 11th of May, 2025.
At the General Council meeting held on the roof top of the Ikorodu Town Hall at the weekend, the organization which is recognized by the Lagos State Government also inaugurated a 5-man electoral committee to organise the elections.
The committee to be chaired by Mr. Banjoko Olalekan Nosiru, also includes Mr. Fasasi Razak, Mr. Rabiu Adenuga, Mrs. Olasunkanmi Kudirat and Alhaja Olarenwaju F.A.T as members.
The outgoing chairman, Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, at the meeting which coincided with his 65th birthday anniversary, also gave the account of stewardship on projects, programmes and the annual Ikorodu Oga Festival.
He said that the present administration complemented projects that some affiliated clubs to IKODASS were doing and also embarked on its own projects. These include 16 standard toilets (6 for male pupils, 6 for female pupils, and 4 for teachers), iron windows for classrooms at Jamatul Islamiyah Primary School, construction of a Borehole at Anibaba and renovation of Oga Primary School Hall among others.
For the year under review, IKODASS generated 50,333,963 and expended 46,338,779 with a surplus of 3,995,184.
Moving forward, the administration, the chairman announced that the body has launched the IKODASS Classroom Rescue Initiative with the aim of salvaging some deplorable classrooms in our locality.
