‎The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, has called on residents of Isiu Kingdom and other communities in Lagos East to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State APC governorship candidate, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

‎

‎Abiru made the appeal on Saturday while speaking as Special Guest of Honour at the 2026 Isiu Eweye Day celebration in Ikorodu North LCDA, where he also highlighted the achievements of the Tinubu administration and ongoing development projects across Ikorodu Division.

‎

‎He commended President Tinubu for his commitment to infrastructure development, citing the ongoing reconstruction of the 34-kilometre Ikorodu–Itoikin Road and the 4.5-kilometre Itoikin–Ijebu-Ode Road, projects he said were facilitated with the President’s support.

‎

‎The senator also highlighted his constituency interventions, particularly in Ikorodu North, including community road projects such as Francis Okon Street in Itamaga, Ebuwawa Road in Agbede and Ojuemuren Road in Odogunyan. He noted that Isiu Market had also benefited from the district-wide solar streetlight deployment.

‎

‎On healthcare, Abiru showcased the 40-bed hospital project in Isiu and another 40-bed hospital with a dental clinic at Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH). He further listed the construction and rehabilitation of healthcare centres, medical outreaches, and the provision of medical supplies and ambulances across Lagos East.

‎

‎In education, he disclosed that classroom blocks had been constructed and rehabilitated in 35 schools across the senatorial district, with furniture and instructional materials provided to improve learning conditions.

‎

‎He urged the people of Isiu to sustain their cooperation with the government, noting that development required collective responsibility and partnership among traditional rulers, community associations, public officials and residents.

‎

‎The senator congratulated the Eweye of Isiu, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olukayode David Raji, JP, the Isiu Eweye Development Association (ISEDASS) and the entire people of Isiu Kingdom on the celebration. He described Eweye Day as an important platform for preserving the community’s cultural heritage, strengthening unity and renewing commitment to development.
