-Residents express displeasures at not having Wizkid, Olamide, OtherA -list artistes

Residents of Ikorodu welcomed year 2025 with prayers, fireworks and good entertainment, as they were thrilled to good music performances from various established and upcoming music acts as the Ikorodu Town venue of Greater Lagos Countdown 2025, roared again on the new Year eve,
The fun seeking audience and residents were thrilled by performances from Alhaji Saheed Osupa, Remi Aluko, T- Famous and Dare Handsome, that made the fun – loving residents ask for more and Ikorodu – based artistes – TySleek and Dphee Dragon, engaged the crowd excellently.
Also, on stage to perform were Dafresh Olorin, 2Cold and the veteran traditional chief whose love for music is superb, Majek Baba, whose soulful numbers also thrilled Ikorodu fans.

At 11:55 pm, Chief Jelili Sanni, the Ayangbade of Igbogbo Kingdom, led the prayer for the concluding year 2024 and a prosperous new year with a traditional prayer, while Comrade Lekan Biliamin – Oba, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Development led the Muslim prayer and Builder Sesan Daini, Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) who coordinated the Greater Lagos Crossover 2025, delivered the prayer in the Christian way.
At the 12:00 am, the crowd shouted happy new year accompanied by fireworks which rented the atmosphere and added to the razzmatazz and electrified the atmosphere.

Prince Waheed Kasali, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tertiary Education who delivered the goodwill message of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, wished residents of Ikorodu Division a happy and prosperous 2025.
He assured them of a better year adding that youths will be empowered and supported more to attain their potentials and be good citizens.
While Afo and Still Young were also at their professional best anchoring the crossover event, B Morgan, an hypeman also did a yeoman’s job engaging the crowd.

Deejays Fatuga and Reasonable DJ Rayce, also gave the crowd an unforgettable night of crossover turning out good and danceable tracks for fun – loving Ikorodu residents to enjoy.
Many upcoming artistes were also given the privilege to perform and connect with the crowd.
In another development, residents of Ikorodu have expressed their displeasure at lack of A -list artistes like Wizkid, Olamide, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Seyi Vibez, Qdot and others.

They complained that it has become the practice to use only local music acts and a few others who are not classified as A-List artistes in Ikorodu, whereas, they were featured at locations in the other four divisions.
Other eminent individuals at the Greater Lagos Crossover 2025 were Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba, Chairman, Ijede LCDA, Hon. Nurudeen Alimi, Council Leader, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Barr. Luqman Akinsanya, founder, Pepc Foundation, Mr Oluwakemi ‘Bashexy’ Hassan, Senior Legislative Aide, National Assembly, Prince Ademola Adeyeri, Personal Assistant to Ayangbure, My Ade Bolowotan, Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Rukayat Salau (Ajibike), Supervisor for WAPA, Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Pappy Shotomiwa, Councilor, Ikorodu LG, Hon. Adekunle Anifowoshe l, Councillor, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, other Councilors and Supervisors from various councils in Ikorodu.
