Fanafillit Integrated Concepts, organisers of the annual GLOWFUX Charity Concert, maintained the tradition of mobilizing members of the public, corporate bodies and others towards facilitating support for the orphanage homes across Lagos State, and bringing children in those homes to celebrate the yuletide season with the other invited children and their parents.

They were entertained and hosted at the concert’s traditional venue since it expanded its scope to cover the state – Dan & Den Oceanfront of the Elegushi Private Beach, Lagos, on December 28, 2023.

At this year’s concert were the GLOWFUX Young Ambassadors –Ambassadors Oluwatofunmi Oladoyin, Temitope Williams, Taiwo & Keeny, Ibrahim Ibraheem, Irekufunmi Agaba, Hilary Adelabu, Iradat Aroyewun, Oluwadarasimi Kalejaiye, Vanessa Jones, Temitayo Williams, Diamond Olowu and Gbolahan Odukoya.

As usual, food items, clothings, toiletries, drinks among other donated items were shared among the eight orphanage homes – Divine Heritage Children Centre, Hikanos Orphanage, Child Lifeline Orphanage, Only God Charity Home, Tunji Adebayo Foundation, Lofty Skills Academy, Love Home Orphanage and Heritage Homes Orphanage, that were invited for the charity concert.

Five new Ambassadors – Harvard Boluwatife Akindele, David Olamide, Princess Tabitha Adegboye and Samuel Monday Oduwole, were also inducted.

For 2023, Bldr. Abdulhakeem Odegade, MD/CEO, AKModel Properties; Olori Bolanle Ogunsanwo, the wife of the Alara of Ilara Epe Kingdom and Rep. Babajimi Benson, Member, Federal House of Representatives representing the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, emerged winners of the GLOWFUX Man of the Year, GLOWFUX Man of the Year and Glowfux Most Detribalised Nigeian, respectively and they were presented with their awards at the concert.

Rep. Babajimi Benson was represented by a powerful delegation led Mayor Muhydeen Sanwoola, the Director – General of the lawmaker’s iCare Foundation, Hon. Rukaya Salau, Supervisory Councilor, WAPA, Ikorodu West LCDA, Princess Abisoye Oredoyin, Supervisory, Imota LCDA, and Ms Comfort Olafare, a youth leader.

JTAH Foundation and MultiChoice Nigeria, also emerged as GLOWFUC NGO of the Year and GLOWFUX Socially Responsible Corporate Brand of the Year, respectively.

The initiator of the projects, Mr Olubode Mac. Oserinde, acknowledging the volunteers’ services to the initiative, presented certificates of commendation to them, with three outstanding persons receiving merit awards which stood them out for their exceptional contributions. The awardees – Olúwaṣeun Adepegba, Ambrose Abasiubong and Azeez Ayotomiwa Eunice, were presented the Community Champion Award, Dedication Distinction Award, and Responsive Volunteering Award respectively,

Children at the concert had great fun with games, horse rides, a bouncy castle with candy floss and popcorns made available to them by Headway Events, and other giveaways. The event was elevated by electrifying performances from Adigun Olowe, Hilary Jackson, Da’Fresh Olorin, First Class Comedy, and FKM Comedy.

Also, Obawale Alalayeoro, “MC Wadada” and Daddy Yo, also did a yeoman’s job achoring the event.

At the 2023 concert, children from one of the homes, who secured scholarship in ICT at the 2022 edition of GLOWFUX, were presented certificates for the successful completion of the programme by the sponsor, Epee Tech Solution.

Other dignitaries at the event were First Lady, Ikorodu North LCDA and the Mother of the Day, Mrs Afolashade Banjo, Guest Speakers – Mrs Uyi Abike Sowobi and Mr. Babatunde Amakaiye Olowu, Ìbá Habeeb O. Okunola MON, OFR, the Akosin of Yorubaland ably represented by Mr. Ambrose Okere and Aderonke Akinola (Ayaba)

MAN OF THE YEAR: Bldr. Abdulhakeem Odegade, MD/CEO, AKModel Properties

Dr. Builder Abdulhakeem Odegade, the MD/CEO of AKMODEL GROUPS, is a successful entrepreneur and youth advocate. Renowned for her benevolent and humanitarian exploits through her charity organisation, Olori Bolanle Yetunde is a beacon of hope to many under-privilege in the Nigerian Society.

Her benevolence has touched the heart of numerous persons in areas including Skill & Business Training, Educational Support Scheme, Nonprofit Soft Loan for enterprising youth and women.

Olori Bolanle has been touching lives in her community before her husband’s emergence as the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Epe.

Her charitable trajectory among other accomplishments have distinguished her as the GLOWFUX Woman of the year 2023

GLOWFUX DETRIBALISED PHILANTHROPIST OF THE YEAR: Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, Representative, Ikorodu

Rep. Babajimi Benson. Member, Fed. House of Representatives representing the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, is a three term lawmaker and Chairman, House Committee on Defense whose representation and lawmaking duties has impacted his constituency, state and the nation at large in small ways.

He founded iCare Foundation, a non-governmental organisation which serves as his social intervention and constituency engagement platform for the people of Ikorodu Federal Constituency. The foundation has championed several humanitarian outreaches that centred on four core areas in Ikorodu Division, namely: Startup Ikorodu, iCare Job Portal, iCare Food Bank and Back to School/Road Grading, iCare Foundation Projects.

His humanitarian trajectory has impacted many constituents which has earned him several fond name “Julius Berger” – for his construction of long dilapidated roads in Ikorodu – “James Bond”, “Ogo Ikorodu”, “Talk and Do” – all reflecting his good deeds to all and sundry irrespective of their differences.

GLOWFUX NGO OF THE YEAR: JTAH Foundation

Jashabel Touch-A-Heart Foundation (JTAH) was incorporated in Nigeria on 1st April, 2016 as a human right, non-governmental and non-profiting organization that has been in the fore-front since the year 2000 with particular focus on poor housewives, single parents and young mothers in Alimosho but Ayobo in particular.

JTAH Foundation has been embarking projects for women like Financial intervention, Medical Aid and Advocacy
