Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the installation of solar-powered streetlights in several communities across Epe and Ikorodu.
According to Dr. Nurudeen Agbaje, the former Special Adviser on Rural Development, the project will be implemented through the Office of Rural Development as part of The Lagos State Government’s ongoing rural electrification initiative, designed to improve infrastructure and enhance the quality of life in underserved communities.
He made the announcement on his social media handles hours before his elevation to the position of a Commissioner to oversee the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Matters and Rural Development.
Ahead of the project’s commencement, he said that officials of the Office of Rural Development, in collaboration with personnel from the Technical Department of the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, conducted needs assessments in the identified communities to ascertain their requirements and ensure effective implementation.
