“We also know what IKODASS has been doing, as the media house that is saddled with the responsibility of showcasing Lagos and its activities and broadcasting the efforts of the state government on developments and ensuring that its citizenry are well informed.

“We are promising that we will continue with the support that we have been giving you”, she said assuringly.

Kosoko also informed the visitors that the station will, henceforth, give wider coverage for Isese Day and other traditional activities following the state government’s recognition. According to her, this is important in order to educate the people on importance of traditions and culture of Lagos State.

“Fortunately, the Isese Day has been approved by the state government, so, it is now a known event that has been accorded holiday. Subsequently, the Isese Day will now enjoy wider broadcasting so that the idea that Lagos is no man’s land can be corrected. Lagos belong to certain people and it is not a no man’s land”, the new GM said.

“We would support and propagate these activities to let people know what our traditions are. We have traditions, culture and ways of life in Lagos, and Ikorodu is well rooted in these activities”.

While also calling on the IKODASS and Ikorodu Division, on the need to reciprocate the station’s support, Kosoko also thanked the people of the Division on behalf of the Governor of the State.

“We promise to always be there to support you and we are also calling on you to be there for us. We, as a broadcast house, is also expected to benefit from you as IKODASS and Ikorodu itself”, she said.

“On behalf of Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo – Olu, we want to say thank you for the support that you gave during the last elections, and we do hope that this relationship grows further and in the next few years, LTV will be able to say that IKorodu has done so much for her.

“This station belongs to you as well as it belong to other Divisions in Lagos, but the first ‘I’ (in IBILE – Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos Island and Epe that made up of Lagos State), is Ikorodu.

“When you set this standard, I am sure that other Divisions will follow suit. I want to say a big thank you to you and I wish you the very best”, she said.

The IKODASS Chairman, Asiwaju Erogbogbo, speaking earlier, stated that the visit is a show of support for the new GM who is part of Ikorodu, on her new appointment.

“Our visit today is because of the access and relationship that we have. The GM is one of us and we are here to congratulate her on her appointment and confirmation”, he said.

“It is a courtesy visit to come and greet you, because we have to celebrate you as one of us.

“We want you to know that IKODASS is right behind you. We will give you the necessary support for you to succeed as the GM of this organization in our dear state which is the largest economy in Africa.

“I know LTV from the inception till now and it is still the best and we know that you are going to take the station to a greater height with your appointment”, Erogbogbo said.

Erogbogbo, seeking for continuation of LTV’s support for IKODASS’ activities, said that IKODASS is the umbrella body of all the clubs and associations in Ikorodu, saddled with the responsibilities of organizing the annual Ikorodu – Oga Day which is also one of the recognized festivals by the Lagos State Government.

“IKODASS is an umbrella body for all associations, clubs, market men and women and artisans that we have in Ikorodu. We also coordinates the annual festival called Ikorodu – Oga Day which we are going to have its 32nd edition between November 11th and 18th this year”, he said.

“We want to appreciate members of your team for the support that they have been giving to us every year during the celebration. We thank the LTV for these supports during the Ikorodu – Oga festival. I want to thank you for always been there for us, to cover our activities.

“Whenever the festival is approaching, we normally come around to appear on the LTV programmes to speak with the members of the public on our programmes of activities. I hope that such gestures will continue during your reign.

“Our festival is all – encompassing, which includes Walk for Fitnesss, Educational Activities, Awards, Medical Mission”, IKODASS Chairman said.

He also listed other engagements and activities of the body, and added that the government alone cannot do it all.

“Apart from the activities during the annual Ikorodu – Oga Day Celebration, IKODASS also runs activities throughout the year on education and engagements for schools and health related issues”, Erogbogbo said.

“We did surgery for ract patients in Ikorodu, and also provide glasses for others.

“We know that government cannot do it alone, which is the reason we have all come together to support the government in supporting our people.

“I want to thank you for this opportunity, and I can assure you that we will not taking it for granted.; We thank you for this visitation”, he said.
