Alogba made the revelation on Monday, at the commissioning of the Obun Ale market which was rehabilitated by Rep. Babajimi Benson.

Speaking further on the issue with THE IMPACT, the council boss said that the ground breaking ceremony would hold either this coming Thursday or next week, unfailingly.

She also stated that her administration would continue with her food bank program, ‘Ijede Tunrayo Ayo Nitemi’, next week.

Hon. Alogba started the food bank program in 2021. However, this time around, she would be presenting the food items to people, to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal which has caused so much hardship to the people.

“The Igbe Oguro community in Ijede Local Council Development Area of Ikorodu Division, which has been without any public school, will have one soon”, she said.

“We are establishing a new school in that community.

“We are going to do a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of a block of classrooms this week. You know that there is no public school in Igbe Oguro, but our administration will flag – off a school and we are going to complete it in good time.

“We intend to build one there. Tentatively, we are looking at Thursday this week for the ground breaking ceremony, but if not, next week”, she said.

Hon. Alogba, explaining her administration’s plans to cushion the effects of the removal of subsidy, said:

“With the way the economy is, which we are all sharing the pains, we intend to provide palliatives for the people next week. As you know, I have been providing food support for those in need since my assumption into office, but this time around, it is in response to the hardship that majority Nigerians are experiencing due to the subsidy removal”, she said.”

“I will be reaching out to the vulnerable people in the society. We will be going into their various homes, especially those that cannot come to the council, to present the palliative to them.

“We will try our best to reach out to our people the best way that we can”, she assured.
