The representative of the Ikorodu Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), would be unveiling his representative plans for the people of his constituency, to commemorate his 100 Days in office.

Hon. Aro would unveil a ‘Tech Program’ which is part of his campaign promises in the area of educational development, to expose students and graduates to modern ICT programmes towards making his young constituents competitive.

This is one out of the several programmes that the state lawmaker hinted that he would be inaugurating to mark his 100 Days in office, during a chat with THE IMPACT at the weekend.

“Since I resumed Office as the representative of the Ikorodu Constituency II, I have been trying to do something about education, especially in uplifting the standard of education of our young ones. About two weeks ago, I met with all the students’ unions executives in the Ikorodu Constituency II – Imota, Ijede and Igbogbo and many of our students that graduated with distinction from the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, especially Miss Rufai Dolamu who is the overall best graduating student in the Ikorodu Division and President of the Imota Students’ Union (ISU)”, Hon. Aro said.

“At the meeting, I commended them and also appreciated those that graduated with good results. It was at the meeting that I introduced a programme to them called, ‘Tech Program’, because we are now in a tech world.

“This program is not restricted to them alone. Any students that is interested can also register for it. I am targeting about 500 students to benefit.

“This is part of my campaign because when I was campaigning, I promised students that I will enroll them and our graduates in professional courses, so that they can acquire certificate in courses that would enhance them to secure jobs”, he said.

The young lawmaker said that the Tech Program would expose the participating students to modern courses in ICT, and to other students around the world, which would enhance their competitiveness.

“They will be involved in projects by placing them in groups, and they will be collecting stipends every month. What they needed for the Tech Program are laptop, while they can also make use of their smart phones”, he said.

“The program will give them the grace to involve in different projects. During the program, they will be opportuned to interact with other students in Europe, Asia and Africa.

“We have started the compilation of their names, and we are not limiting it to the graduates alone, students from 100level upward would also benefit. Even, we are involving those that graduated two or three years ago”.

“I will also be partnering with some companies to secure jobs for them after their training”, Hon. Aro added.

The representative also said that he has started compiling and grouping beneficiaries across his constituency, for the ‘Health’ and ‘Business Support’ schemes that he will also be introducing for the benefit of the people.

“I will be launching that with ‘Health Scheme’ which is an endowment program to commemorate my 100 days in office. I will be talking more about the progarmmes, at the launching”, he said.

“On the same day, we will start disbursing money to support market women in their businesses. What we are doing now is to compile their list and group them.

“I am partnering with ‘Ilera Eko’, for the Health Programme, to give our people access to good health care. My plan is to buy the scheme for over 200 residents across the Ikorodu Constituency II. It is N8500 per person.

“We have shared this equally across the three councils in Ikorodu Constituency II”, he said.

Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro, who was elected in the last general elections and inaugurated into the 10th Lagos Assembly in June, has, within a short period of time, warmed himself into the hearts of the people, with laudable programmes and interventions.
He has been playing important roles in ensuring that the Lagos State Government, mobilize the construction giant, HiTech, back to site, to complete the construction of the Ebute – Igbogbo – Bola Tinubu – Igbe – Gintin Road, while he also spoke on the floor of the House, on the marginalization of the Ikorodu Division, calling for more than one cabinet slots for the division.
