Kunle Adelabu
The Women’s League of the African Church, Lagos West Missionary Diocese (LWMD), has elevated its Patrons and Matrons that have been contributing to its growth while the ones were also honoured in commemoration of its 6th anniversary.
Their investiture by the Rt. Rev. Hezekhial Adeleke Adetoro, Bishop, Lagos West Missionary Diocese, took place during the 6th anniversary thanksgiving service held at the African Church Bethel Cathedral ACBC), Ikorodu on Saturday, October 5, 2021.
Some of the eminent members of the African Church in attendance at the service were e Dr Segun Adenekan, Provincial Vice Lay President, Lagos Province, Dr (Chief) Mrs Adebisi Odunlami, Honourable Vice Lay President, Agege Diocese, Prince Bayo Ogunleye, the Otunba Baba Ijo, African Church Bethel Cathedral, Ikorodu and former Vice Lay President, Lagos West Missionary Diocese and Engr. Sunday Oshin, the Cathedral Warden, ACBC and Elder (Dr) Timothy Okeowo, Trustee, ACBC among others, Mre Oluwaseyi Adelabu, ACBC and Lady Evang. Victoria Adetoro, Chairperson, Women’s League, LWMD.
Lady Evang. Akinsanya, presenting the honorees to the Bishop for investiture during the service, said that:
“We have examined and sure that it is the Will of God and that of the whole of Women’s League to install them into the exalted positions”.
Bishop Adetoro then charged them to discharge their duties as may be required to the League and African Church in general.

Newly installed patrons and matrons are: Mrs Grace Adesigbin, Chiefs (Mrs) Anneigho ogbevire, Chief (Mrs) Abosede Gbemisola Sowemimo, Chief (Mrs) Eniyewum Esumade, Rev. Canon Adesiyan R.O, Mrs Olutomi Ibilola, Mr Bilewu Olukayode Abiodun , Chief (Mrs) Racheal Abiola Shoderu, Mrs Victoria Kike Kashimawo.
Others are: Comrade (Mrs) Kehinde Olusola Okeowo (Jp), Dr (Chief) Mrs Evangelist Adebisi Odunlami, Evang. Juliana Akanke Sobande, Mrs Adenekan Augustina Lamosi, Chief (Mrs) Victoria Abike Olanipekun, Chief (Mrs) Dorcas Owolabi Ogede, Chief Osagie Omolaja, Chief Awobajo Ademola, Chief (Mrs) Boyejo.
Excellence Service Awards were also presented to Mrs Oluyemisi Sodade, Bro. Samson Oyewdele, Evang. Esther Ogunniyi, Mrs F.O. Fasina, Chief (Mrs) Hannah Ajasa and Mrs Mopeola Oyawoye.
