“We are here to complement our campaign. We have been doing house-to-house campaign since the last two weeks, so,  with only few days to the Presidential and National Assembly elections, we decided at the leadership meeting to embark on motorcade rally within the community to complement all that we have been doing.

“We are sensitizing and creating awareness for our party, candidates and the elections and also telling the people how the elections would go on Saturday”.

He added that the rally was aimed at educating electorate on how to vote and made their votes counts.

“One of the motives of the rally is to sensitise the people. We normally use the thump to vote before but now, the number of political parties are many and columns allocated to on the ballot paper are small. So, what we are telling the Electorate is that they should use their index finger instead of the thump to thumbprint.

“They are also expected to blow the ink immediately they drop it on the ballot paper and fold the paper before putting it in the ballot box. They should not use the hand they used to thumbprint to fold or drop the ballot paper in the ballot box”.

Member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Benson, who is seeking re-election, was also part of the rally. He stated that the continuous campaign by his party is to ensure that APC records more votes in the coming elections .

He added that it was  necessary they continue with the campaign because “it is not over until it is over”.

“When I was a young boy, I used to listen to the late sage, Obafemi Awolwo and one of his sayings is that “it is not over until it is over”. We still have Tuesday to Thursday to campaign and our plan is to shatter records and break glasses. We want our result from this division to be the biggest in Lagos State so as to claim our pride of place in Lagos State.

“Remember that when Ikorodu sneezes in the days of yore, the entire Lagos would catch cold. We are trying to reinvent and bring back those glorious days, so,  we need to campaign, get more energized and get our people to vote APC all the way. That is why we are out on the street sweating to  ensure that APC wins the elections.

Alhaja Funmi Basorun, the Coordinator of the President Buhari re-election team in Ikorodu Local Government, stated that the rally was designed to cover all the seven wards in Ikorodu Local Government, interact with voters and educate them on how to vote during the elections.
