Vice President Osinbajo Urges Christians To Join Fight Against Corruption

The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has taken the anti-corruption crusade to the Church as he urged Christians to do more in fighting the menace that, according to him,  has become the bane of the country’s under-development.

 

He made this request while speaking as the guest pastor at The Open Door Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Odon gunman, Ikorodu, during his visit to Ikorodu division area of Lagos State, Southwest , Nigeria, on Sunday, February 10, 2019.

 

Prof Osinbajo spoke on the theme, “The Church and the Destiny of A Nation”.

 

He stated that the situation in the country could have been better if the Church had joined the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in the fight against corruption.

He then sought the support of the Church for the administration of Buhari in achieving its aim of fighting corruption and making the country better.

 

He challenged Churches to endeavor to find out about the source of wealth of congregants that are making huge donations to the Church.

 

While stating that Churches preach the gospel of hard work, integrity and righteousness in other climes, Prof. Osinbajo challenged Churches in Nigeria to serve its purpose by emulating such exemplary preachings and also join hands in fighting corruption.

 

The resident pastor of the Church, Pastor Aina Salami, in his short speech, thanked God for the life of the Vice President Osinbajo, especially for escaping unhurt in an helicopter crash about two weeks ago.

The Church also held a  special prayer  for the Vice President.

 

HOW, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Ayangbure of Ikorodu and Vice Chairman, Lagos State Council of Obas & Chiefs, and Oba Richard Ogunsanya, the Olubeshe of Ibesheland, were present at the service.

 

The royal fathers were accompanied by  the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Hon. Babajimi Benson, the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, APC State Vice Chairman, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, Mr Lasisi F.O. Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State, former deputy governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Publisher, Oriwu Sun, Alhaji Monzor Olowosago, former Information Commissioner in the State, Otunba Ayodele Elesho, former Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sunmi Odesanya, and Otunba Ganiyu Abiru, Chairman, Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS) among others.
