APC Planning To Shatter Voting Records In Ikorodu – Hon. Benson

Hon. Babajimi Benson speaking with our reporter after the rally in Ikorodu

Hon. Babajimi Benson, Member, Federal House of Representatives,  who is seeking re-election to represent the people of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, spoke with the Publisher/Reporter-in-Chief of THE IMPACT, Kunle ADELABU, during the party’s rally on Tuesday. He explained that the reason for the continuous rally, mobilization and sensitization is to ensure that All Progressives Congress (APC) record more votes in Ikorodu and also that the party is going to win the coming elections with clear margin. Excerpts:

IMPACT: We have few days to the elections, your party is still going out there on the street campaigning and mobilizing. Why?

Hon. Benson: As a boy, I was used to listening to the late sage, Obafemi Awolowo when he speaks and one of his sayings is that ‘it is not over until it is over”. We still have Tuesday to Thursday to campaign and our plan is to shatter records and break glasses. We want our result from this division to be the biggest in Lagos State so as to claim our pride of place in Lagos State.

Remember that when Ikorodu sneezes in the days of yore, the entire Lagos would catch cold. We are trying to reinvent and bring back those glorious days, so we need to campaign, get more energized and get our people to vote APC all the way. That’s why we are out on the street sweating to ensure APC wins the elections.

IMPACT: People are saying that you are having endless campaign because APC is jittery of the  oppositions’ candidates in the division. What do you have to say to this?

Hon. Benson: You know I told you about Awolowo’s saying that ‘it is not over until it is over’. Even if we don’t have any candidate competing against us, we will still be doing the campaign. I don’t see any PDP candidate anywhere. They are not on the ground anywhere. It is APC all the way.

Question: What are your expectations for yourself and other APC candidates in the coming elections?

Hon. Benson: There is no doubt that it is APC all the way. We are not going to drop any position because our people are progressively inclined. The other time, the Vice President Osinbajo came and stated that Ikorodu is a progressive community and so be it.
