Ikorodu Mourns As Aremo Adeniyi Ogunsanya Laid To Rest In Ikorodu

Children, family members of Aremo Adeniyi Ogunsanya, the Aremo of Ikorodu and representatives of royal fathers with their staff of offices whe remains of late Aremo Ogunsanya, in a transparent casket during the lying -in -state at Oriwu Club, Ikorodu.

His Eminence, Fadhilat Sheikh Seifudeen Àyìnlá Ademoritan Olowooribi, the Grand Chief Imam, Ikorodu Division and His Eminence Sheikh Yahya Olorunosebi Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi As-Samadaani, led the Muslim prayers as the remains of Aremo Adeniyi Kamorudeen Ogunsanya, was laid to rest at his residence along Ipakodo road, Ikorodu, on Friday.

He was interred after the laying -in – state at Oriwu Club House along the Ikorodu -Shagamu Road, where chieftains and members of the club paid glowing tributes as a mark of last respect.

HRM Oba (Dr.) Engr. Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Adegorushen V, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Semiudeen Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba (Engr.) Bashir Shotonwa, the Sekumade of Ipakodo, Oba Richard Ogunsanya, the Olubeshe of Ibeshe, Oba Kazeem Olaonipekun Gbadamosi, the Ologijo of Ogijo among many other royal fathers sent their chiefs and staff of office to honour the late Aremo of Ikorodu.‎


‎Meanwhile, residents of Ikorodu have continued to pay tributes to the late Aremo Ogunsanya, describing him as a distinguished personality who made his impacts while alive.

Asiwaju Rotimi Erogbogbo, the immediate past Chairman, Ikorodu -Oga Development Association (IKODASS), described the death of late community leader as an exit of an icon.


‎”It is with a heavy heart, but with total submission to the will of Almighty God, that we mourn the passing of Aremo Adeniyi Ogunsanya, a distinguished son and revered icon of Ikorodu Kingdom.

“Aremo Adeniyi Ogunsanya was a gentleman of honour, showed kindness and uncommon love for his people. His life reflected dignity, humility and an unwavering commitment to the progress and unity of Ikorodu Kingdom. He carried himself with grace and related warmly with people across generations and social divides”.

He said that his death has created vacuum within his family and Ikorodu kingdom at large.

‎”His departure has created a painful void, not only within his immediate family but throughout Ikorodu Kingdom and beyond. We have lost a respected community leader, a dependable elder and a worthy ambassador of our cherished heritage.


“Although his passing is deeply painful, we remain grateful to Almighty God for the meaningful life he lived and the enduring legacy he left behind. His good deeds, wise counsel and loving nature will remain permanently engraved in our hearts.

‘We pray that Almighty God forgives his shortcomings, accepts his good deeds, expands and illuminates his grave, and grants him Al-Jannah Firdaus. May Allah also comfort and strengthen his family, friends, associates and the entire people of Ikorodu Kingdom during this difficult period.

“Farewell, our beloved Aremo. Farewell, a great son of Ikorodu Kingdom. Your noble footprints will never be forgotten”.

‎A community leader ad former Chairman, National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Kehinde Okeowo, also mourning the passage of late Aremo Ogunsanya, wrote:

‎Yeye Adeola Agunbiade, the Yeye Opomulero of Ikorodu Kingdom, also in her tributes, described Aremo Ogunsanya’s death as fallen of a giant.

An insurance professional based in Igbogbo, Mr Femi Dankuwo, also paid tribute to late Aremo Ogunsanya, describing him as a leader and mentor.

‎”What a great loss! We’ve lost a father, a leader, a boss, and a mentor. An astute insurance professional. Aremo 1, as you are fondly called.

“May God Almighty grant you Aljanah Fridaos.

“Rest on, my great boss”.
