One Year In Office: Education Secretary Applauds Ikorodu Chairmen For Investment In Educational Infrastructure

‎The Education Secretary, Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu Local Government, Alhaji Taiwo Abiodun Odumbo, has applauded the six council chairmen in Ikorodu Division for their investment in education infrastructures in the last 12 months of their emergence as the Council Executives.

‎Alhaji Odumbo in a statement congratulating the six chairmen: Hon. Prince Adedayo Abdul-Lateef Ladega, Executive Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government; Hon. Sulaiman Kazeem Olanrewaju, Executive Chairman, Ikorodu West LCDA; Mayor Ameen Ibrahim Apanisile, Executive Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA; Hon. Sunday Benson Ayodele, Executive Chairman, Imota LCDA; Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, Executive Chairman, Ijede LCDA  and Hon. Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, Executive Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, on the anniversary of their first year in office, also extends his heartfelt commendation on behalf of the education family in Ikorodu Division.

‎”It is often said that the true measure of leadership is not in lofty speeches but in tangible legacies that touch lives.

‎ Today, the story of the leadership of our six Executive Chairmen in Ikorodu Division is being told not only in council chambers but in the laughter of children learning in new classrooms, in the pride of teachers working in improved environments, and in the hope of parents who see brighter and rewarding futures for their wards.”

‎Listing numerous educational infrastructures implemented by the chairmen across the six Local Government and LCDAs, Alhaji Odumbo described them as mind- blowing.

‎”In just one year, these leaders have delivered mind-blowing investments in educational infrastructure across Ikorodu Division. Their collective efforts include: 

‎-Reconstruction of a Block of 6-Classroom at AUI Primary School, Ijede LCDA.

‎- Construction of a Block of 4-Classrooms and 8-toilets facility at Egbin Kingdom Nursery and Primary School, Ijede LCDA.

‎- Construction of a Block of 6-Classrooms, 8-toilets facility and Perimetre Fence at Methodist Primary School, Oke-Eletu, Ijede LCDA.

‎- Construction of a Block of 6-Classrooms and 8-toilets facility at Community Primary School, Abule-Eko, Ijede LCDA.

‎- Reconstruction of a Block of 6-Classrooms at Anglican Primary School, Ijede LCDA.

‎- Reconstruction of a Block of 6-Classrooms at Methodist Primary School, Igbogbo, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.

‎- Rehabilitation of a block of 6-Classrooms at Methodist Primary School, Elepe II, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA

‎- Ongoing Construction of Smart School facilities, Zumratul Islamiyyah Primary School, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. 

‎- Reconstruction of Army Children Nursery and Primary School, Losi-Onikoko, Ikorodu North LCDA. 

‎- Construction of 9 gender-friendly toilet cubicles, 3 bathrooms, ante rooms, hand-washing stations and 2 disability-friendly cubicles, all illuminated at Zumratul Islamiyyah Primary School, Odogunyan, Ikorodu North LCDA.

‎- Construction of 8 toilet cubicles and 2 disability-friendly cubicles with robust water system at Idera Community Primary School, Odogunyan, Ikorodu North LCDA.

‎- Construction of a towering 9-metre stanchion supporting borehole, 24 toilet cubicles, 2 fetching points and 2 hand-washing stations at African Bethel Primary School, Erikorodo, Ikorodu North LCDA.

‎- Provision of prepaid electricity metres and furniture to public primary schools in Ikorodu West LCDA.

‎- Redesigning and ongoing construction of Community Primary School, Itowolo, Ikorodu West LCDA.

‎- Provision of Security Personnel across Public Primary Schools in Imota LCDA.

‎- Construction of 8 Toilet facilities at Methodist Primary School, Imota LCDA.

‎- Ongoing Construction of a Block of 6-Classrooms, Toilet Facilities, Solar Borehole at Anglican Primary School, Ikorodu LG.

‎- Proposed Construction of Agura Junior Secondary School, Agura, Ikorodu LG.

‎- Donation of Luxury SUV to the Education Secretary, LGEA, Ikorodu.

‎- Sponsorship of Spelling Bee Competitions in Ikorodu Division and Lagos State.

‎- Supported the initiative of Babajimi Benson MHR’s Christmas Shopping for Public Primary School Pupils and Staff across the Division.

‎He also lauded the chairmen for their support for teaching and non- teaching staff of the LGEA through welfare packages.

‎Odumbo stressed that the council administrators in the last one year ensured that children in Ikorodu Division have access to good education.

‎”Beyond infrastructure, our Council Chairmen have demonstrated uncommon welfarism for staff, supported the LGEA administration enormously, and rolled out people-oriented programmes that prioritise education, youth empowerment, and community development.

“Their vision has ensured that no child is left behind and that every school in Ikorodu Division is an haven of hope.”

‎While applauding them, the Education Secretary urged the six chairmen to sustain their investment in education.

‎”Undoubtedly, this has earned the applause of the Education Family, and as such we extend heartfelt gratitude to our leaders for redefining grassroots governance through education and for these investments in the future of Ikorodu’s children.”

‎”As our Chairmen continue their journey of service, we wish them greater wisdom, strength, and divine guidance to sustain this momentum of progress.”
