The Executive Chairman Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele (BSA), has urged 1000 youths that successfully completed the 2 – Day Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Capacity Building Programme, to use knowledge acquired to start their own businesses and improve existing ones.
Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, while presenting certificates to participants, also reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic development at the grassroots.
Participants received their certificate at a ceremony held at the CDA Hall, Agudungbun, Imota, after being equipped in practical entrepreneurial, business management, and financial literacy skills. The initiative was organised through a strategic partnership between the Imota LCDA and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) to promote self-reliance and enterprise development among residents.

Speaking during the ceremony, Hon. Benson congratulated the beneficiaries for their dedication and perseverance throughout the training, urging them to maximize the knowledge acquired by establishing viable businesses and contributing meaningfully to the local economy. He emphasised that empowering young people with relevant skills remains a major priority of his administration.
The council chairman noted that the programme aligns with the broader vision of the Lagos State Government to create employment opportunities, reduce poverty, and stimulate inclusive economic growth through entrepreneurship. He assured participants that the council would continue to facilitate access to opportunities that support business growth and wealth creation.

Hon. Benson Ayodele further encouraged the graduates to become ambassadors of enterprise within their communities by mentoring others and applying innovative solutions to address local economic challenges.
According to him, “The certificates symbolise not only the completion of the programme but also the beginning of a journey towards financial independence and economic resilience.”
The LSETF representative present at the event, Mr. Samson Oduegwu commended the Imota LCDA administration for prioritising youth development and human capital investment, describing the capacity-building programme as a practical intervention capable of reducing unemployment and fostering economic prosperity within the council area.

He urged beneficiaries to remain focused and committed to building successful enterprises.
Many of the participants expressed appreciation to the council chairman and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund for the impactful initiative, describing the training as timely and transformative. They noted that the programme enhanced their understanding of business planning, customer relations, financial management, marketing strategies, and access to entrepreneurial opportunities.
