The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olumuyiwa Odusanya, has sounded a strong warning against complacency in tackling food insecurity, revealing that 20% of Lagosians face hunger and malnutrition.
Speaking at the College of Agriculture Day, he urged urgent action to strengthen food systems and praised LASUSTECH’s fully accredited programmes for equipping graduates to solve real-world agricultural challenges.
Prof. Odusanya expressed hope that future Agric Day events will expand into university-wide, interdisciplinary programmes, leveraging science and engineering to drive food security solutions.

The event underscored the vital role of agricultural education in national development and called for renewed urgency in combating hunger across Lagos State.
