INTERVIEW: My Expectation From APC Assembly Primary Election Is Positive- Alogba Kareem, Aspirant

Kareem Alogba, aspirant for Ikorodu Constituency I, Lagos State House of Assembly

Mr Kareem Alogba is the youngest of all the four aspirants that are vying for the Ikorodu Constituency I seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

‎He spoke with reporters at the APC Secretariat in Ikorodu, venue of the Ward A4 primary election on Wednesday’s evening after the cancellation of the election process in the Ward:

‎THE IMPACT: We have been here all day (Wednesday) for the election process to commerce but nothing yet, what is happening?

Alogba Kareem: To my surprise, the electoral officials have left the venue. As you can see, my people are still here waiting to be counted. They only counted one of the aspirants, and the process was not concluded before they left. They left in annoyance and said this centre had been cancelled.

‎At the moment, we are still here hoping that our votes will eventually be counted.

‎THE IMPACT: Do you still expect a positive outcome coming from this election?

Alogba Kareem: Insha Allah. By Allah’s grace. Although, I cannot say much for now, but looking at the crowd here, I want to thank everybody sincerely for their support. By His grace, we believe we are winning.

‎THE IMPACT: What do you think about the arrangements put in place by the APC for this exercise?

‎Alogba Kareem: I will not say the arrangement was not entirely bad, but there are areas that need improvement.
‎The party needs to be more strategic and improve its logistics so that electoral officials can get to the wards and centres on time.

‎THE IMPACT: What message do you have for your co-contestants?

‎Alogba Kareem: My message is that we should all remain civil. If we truly want to govern people, then we must learn to conduct ourselves properly. We can be more civilized than this and handle things in the right way.

‎THE IMPACT: Thank you very much.

Alogba Kareem: Thank you.
