The youngest aspirant among the six vying for the Ikorodu Constituency I seat, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Alogba Kareem Adeleke has assured residents of Ikorodu that his emergence as their representative would bring about renewed movement for a purposeful representation, people -oriented leadership and sustainable development.
Alogba who was a former staff of the Ministry of Science & Technology, Lagos State, also pledged to champion interests, amplify community voices, and work tirelessly for the progress of Ikorodu and its people, if elected.
The young politician made the pledge at the official flag-off of his aspiration to represent Ikorodu Constituency I at a pre – primary election rally held at the Ikorodu LG Open Ground, opposite the General Post Office, Ita -Elewa, Ikorodu, on Saturday.
“Today marks not just the flag-off of a political journey, but the beginning of a renewed movement for purposeful representation, people-centered leadership and sustainable development for our constituency.
“Ikorodu is our home. Our strength lies in our people—our hard working fathers, resilient mothers, ambitious youths and visionary leaders. Our communities deserve quality representation that listens, understands and delivers.
“I stand before you today, not merely as an aspirant, but as a servant of the people — ready to champion your interests, amplify your voices, and work tirelessly for the progress of every ward, every street and every household in Ikorodu Constituency I.”
Stating his mission, Alogba said that his plans to empower our communities’ youths through opportunities, skill development, and economic inclusion; support our women, traders, and entrepreneurs for stronger grassroots prosperity; promote quality education, infrastructure, and community welfare and ensure transparent, accessible, and impactful representation, remain sacrosanct.
While stating that his aspiration is not about him, rather, about the people, Alogba sought for prayers and support from the people for his emergence.
“This movement is about us all. It is about building a constituency where no voice is ignored and no community is left behind.
“With your support, prayers and collective strength, we will move Ikorodu Constituency I to greater heights.
“I call on every progressive mind, every believer in genuine service and every lover of development to join this movement.”
Alogba furthered in his charge: “Together, we will write a new chapter of growth, unity and people-driven governance.
The journey starts now. The movement is here. Victory is certain.
Thank you, and God bless Ikorodu Constituency I, God bless Lagos State, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Alhaji Taiwo Longe, an APC chieftain and former chairman of the ruling party in Ikorodu, who presented the aspirant to the crowd also as a chieftain of The Mandate Group, described Alogba as a determined young and dynamic aspirant who will bring vibrancy to representation if elected.
“Well, I can see his aspiration as somebody who is well determined and focused. As far as Lagos State House of Assembly, Ikorodu is being relegated which has never happened to us right from the time immemorial.
“I could remember vividly, we have been Speaker of Lagos State House Assembly, with Honorable Oshinowo, later, we were Majority Leader of Lagos State House of Assembly, with Hon. SOB Agunbiade, today, we are just a member, but being a member does not mean somebody should not live up to the expectations.
“So, Hon. Alogba is still energetic and is a youth, and we are clamouring for a youth that is still young in age. Here is an aspirant that is youthful and is well determined and focused. So, he will go there and perform better than what we have at the moment, because there is a landmark on the ground for them, which we expect anybody that is going to the House of Assembly to capitalise on and excel further, rather than giving the negative result.”
The APC chieftain, emphasising why he is supporting the young Alogba to emerge as the APC candidate, said:
“All the aspirants are my friends. They are close to me, but Alogba is the only one that really came to my house and told me all what he has for Ikorodu, and I agreed with him. He wants to make Ikorodu proud.
“In our party, we have influential groups – Justice Forum and The Mandate Movement, Hon. Alogba declared on the platform of The Mandate Movement and that is why you see me here today to present him by raising up his hands as a mandate person,” Alhaji Longe said.
The publisher of Oriwu Sun newspaper, Alhaji Monzor Olowoshago, who described the aspirant as his son also urged the leadership and members of the APC to give their maximum support to Alogba to emerge as the candidate of the party and eventually represent Ikorodu Constituency I.
Hundreds of leaders of the APC, members and residents of Ikorodu, trooped out to participate in the declaration by the aspirant.
