Alhaji Kolawole Fatai Olayiwola, Chairman, Ikorodu -Oga Development Association (IKODASS), has explained that the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson, has been ensuring that his constituency is growing and developing in every sense and there is need for him to continue to represent his people and do more.

The IKODASS Chairman listed the “Apo Anu” foodbank that the lawmaker has been sponsoring since 2015 through which he has been able to support thousands of households, roads. solar powering of streets and homes among many others of his interventions as reasons he must continue to represent his people.

Alhaji Kolawole spoke with THE IMPACT at the May 2026 edition of the distribution of “Apo Anu” food packs to hundreds of residents at the lawmaker’s constituency office in Ikorodu.

“Today is another fresh proof that our representative is the “Julius Berger” of Ikorodu Kingdom.

“Jimi Benson, our son, I remember started the “Apo Anu” since 2015 for elderly and other people in Ikorodu and he has never stopped. We have been feeling the impact of Hon. Babajimi Benson who is representing us in Abuja. I can say this with all sense of responsibility that we want him to continue.

“We want him to do more and he has been doing it. Most of the roads in Ikorodu have been facilitated for construction by him,” the IKODASS Chairman said.

Alhaji Kolawole who is the current Ikorodu Man of the Year, also emphasised that Ikorodu is growing faster and better due to Rep. Benson’s representation, adding that his return back to the House is non -negotiable if he cannot secure a higher elective position.

“Today Ikorodu is growing better every day with access roads, and light everywhere. There is nowhere he has not touched. Everybody in Ikorodu federal constituency knows him, and we believe he can do better.

“We are even praying for a bigger post than this one for him. If that is not happening now, he has to go back to his current position and that is non -negotiable.

“Jimi Benson will continue to represent us in the House of Representatives, for as long as he wants because he is doing what the people want from him. Let him be there, because he has been there for us, and he is always there. He has contributed to everything in Ikorodu,” Alhaji Kolawole added.

In addition, beneficiaries of the monthly “Apo -Anu” food bank have also lauded the positive impacts of the lawmaker.

Mrs Aishat Adamo, from Kasolori Estate, Ikorodu, who is collecting the Apo Anu food pack for the first time, expressed her appreciation to the lawmaker for providing her and family food.

“I really appreciate him for this kind gesture. Whatever he wants, God will do more for him, because he is providing for many people and does not allow us to go hungry with our children. I pray for more blessings for him and whatever position that he desires, God will do it for him.

“He has been providing for the poor and we need him to continue to do this because there is poverty in the country which affects people like me,” she said.
