He stated this in a statement commemorating the 2026 May Day, a day observed globally for the celebration of workers.

“Today, as we mark Workers’ Day, I extend my warmest congratulations to every one of you whose daily labour, seen and unseen, quietly sustains the rhythm of our society.

“Work, in its deepest sense, is more than a means of livelihood; it is an expression of human dignity. It is through work that we shape not only our environment but also our character, our communities, and our shared future. Whether in the fields, offices, markets, workshops, or homes, each effort contributes a thread to the vast fabric of our collective progress,” he said.

Hon Aro emphasised that every effort of workers no matter how small or simple is significant and contributes to societal and national development.

He Congratulates workers globally on the occasion of the celebration while also calling for renewal of solidarity for each other.

“This day invites us to reflect on a simple but profound truth: no task is insignificant when performed with purpose, and no worker is invisible in the grand architecture of society. The strength of our nation does not lie merely in its resources, but in the resilience, creativity, and commitment of its people.

“As we celebrate, let us also renew our sense of solidarity—with one another, and with the generations to come. May we continue to build a society where every worker is valued, every effort respected, and every aspiration given room to grow.

“I commend your perseverance, your integrity, and your unwavering contribution to the common good. May your work continue to bring not only sustenance, but also meaning and pride.

“Happy Workers’ Day.”
