Mr. Babajide Sanwo – Olu, Governor of Lagos State

The newly appointed Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Political Mobilisation and Strategy, Mr Ibrahim Kehinde Oladega, has said that the State of Excellence is on the right track to greatness and that Lagosians will again vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The trained journalist cum politician, said that the state has been following the master plan laid down for its development for about 30 years and which each of the succeeding governors has been adhering to strictly. Emphasising that the people have fallen in love with the ruling party – APC – and will support the party again come 2027 to continue its developmental trajectory.

Oladega spoke with THE IMPACT on Saturday during the march in support of Rep. Babajimi Benson to represent the Ikorodu Division in any capacity he wished to.

“For every policy we make at the centre, it comes back to the grassroots. It comes back to the local governments and you would see the reflection of Mr President on the council areas. Look at the road we just passed through, you would see that it is ongoing, that is the Igbogbo/Bola Tinubu/Igbe Laara Road.

“The road has been in a bad shape for a couple of years and now you could see the work on that road showing and telling the world that there’s work going on by the Lagos State Government led by Babajide Sanwo-Olu

“For every policy we make at the centre, the grassroots feel the impacts and that’s the reason a member of the Federal House of Representatives is playing a major role in selling the centre to people of Ikorodu.”

Stressing that the Lagos State Government is executing the development plan which has been laid down for about 30 years and which has been a working document to succeeding administrations in the state, Oladega said further:

“Of course, we are on the right track. First of all, we have to understand that Lagos has been planned in the last 30 years and for every governor who has been elected, he or she has come to play their part.”

The governor’s aide, also commenting on the coming General Elections, confidently stated that the ruling party would once again win in the state.

“2027 is another time for another governor to come in and the APC is the party of Lagosians right from the time of Alliance for Democracy (AD), Action Congress (AC), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the APC is our party and our DNA is APC.

“So, we are not scared because 2027 is just like another time to show and tell the world that we will always vote for our party come rain come sunshine,” he said with confidence.

Oladega joined hundreds of other political office holders, youths and other residents to march in support for Rep. Babajimi Benson, calling him to declare and vie for any political position of his choice including the governorship of Lagos State.

There has been massive support and agitation in different quarters for Benson to be the sole governorship candidate from Ikorodu Division while others are also calling on him to return to the House of Representatives for the fourth term where he has made a lot of impacts in the last 11 years.
