The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Mozambique in the round of 16 at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the 35, 000 capacity Fez Stadium, Fez, Morocco, where the Nigerian team played its group matches.
Nigeria secured the maximum 9 points to top the group, scoring 8 goals, and conceded 4 goals, to top Group C.
The Super Eagles finished unbeaten in 2025. In all, the team played 15 matches, won 9, drew 5 and loss 1.
Mozambique on the other hand secured 3 points to place third in Group F. The Mamba boys won just one match and loss 2, to qualified as one of the four best third place teams.

In its six appearances in the AFCON – 1986, 1996, 1998, 2010, 2023 and the ongoing tournament in Morocco 2025, Mozambican team is qualifying for the Round of 16 for the first time.
The first knockout stage will be staged from January 3rd – 6th, with two matches every day as the remaining sides battle it out for a quarter-final place.
The host country, Morocco will face Tanzania at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat on Sunday, and it is expected that their fans will give the home team maximum support as they seek a first continental title in 50 years.
Morocco topped Group A, with Tanzania qualifying as one of the four best third-placed sides out of Group C.

The quarter-finals will be played on 9th – 10th January, with the final scheduled for 18th January at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdellah.
