A United States of America (USA) group, Interweave Solutions in collaboration with the Rivers State Liaison Office in Lagos, has honoured the Director of Mass Education in Lagos State, Mrs Oluwakemi Kalesanwo.
The Gold Mind Success Award was presented to her on Monday, June 2.
She was honoured with the award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to human and community development, particularly in empowering individuals to transition from poverty to prosperity.
As the Director who is in charge of the state’s vocational skill centres, the agency has been expanding across the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State, training thousands of youth in various skills with many success stories from graduates.
In recent times, the agency has also been partnering with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund to facilitate loan and business support for the graduates of the centres.
Among dignitaries at the presentation were Hon. Mrs. Esther Joseph Bepeh, the Chief host and the Special Adviser, Rivers State Liaison Office, Lagos, Collin Reid, Director of Operations, Interweave Solutions, USA, Amb. Damilola Adewunmi, Regional Director, Interweave Solutions, USA, and Mrs. Oladunjoye Olaide, Deputy Director, Vocational Agency for Mass Education.
