In line with the directive from the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State and the apex leaders in Imota LCDA, on the inclusion of a female representative in the 2025 Local Government Councillorship Elections to promote gender balance in politics, Olumide A. Shofowora, a Councillorship aspirant for Ward B in Imota LCDA has stepped down and declared support for Mrs Saidat Orewale.
Shofowora, who led the Omo Ologo Group, a political support group under the APC in Imota, has also met with Orewale, in solidarity support for her candidacy to become the next Councillor, Maja Ward B.

He said that the initiative did not only encourage the inclusion of female participation, but also demonstrate the party’s dedication to gender equality, increase the number of women in leadership positions, and enhance their participation in politics, especially at the local level.
He said that the group will continue to support the party in any way to achieve success and its core objectives.

“As a progressive political group whose philosophy, ideology, and activities align with that of our party, we will continue to channel our strength into sustaining the momentum of our political evangelism, which we have built over the past 4 years and continue to work with all our stakeholders and leaders for the progress of our great party, APC.”
