The Igbogbo Students’ Union (ISU) has described the late Babaloja of Igbogbo Kingdom and a philanthropist, late Alhaji (Chief) Mukaila Onabanjo as a man whose heart always beat for Igbogbo’s growth and development while alive.

The foremost community students’ body also lauded the support of the late community man for the union.

ISU paid tribute to the late Babaloja who was the Chief Executive Officer of the popular Miksson Onas Hall, Igbogbo which he used in supporting many communities, students and youth activities in Igbogbo during his lifetime, in a tribute signed by its President, Comrade Abdulsalam Tijani

“Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un.

“With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of a father, a mentor, a leader, and a man whose heart beat for the progress of his people, Alhaji Mikhail Onabanjo, (The Baba Oja of Igbogbo Kingdom).

“He was not just a custodian of tradition, but a rare gem who brought wisdom, kindness, and vision into every gathering he graced. He stood as a bridge between generations valuing the past while believing firmly in the future, especially the youth.

“His unwavering support for the Igbogbo Students’ Union remains fresh in our hearts. In times when others overlooked the role of students in community development, Baba Oja stood with us, encouraged us, and always opened his doors and heart. Even in our most recent plans, we hoped to meet him this month to seek his blessings and counsel. But Allah (SWT), the best of planners, has called him home,” ISU President said in his tribute.

He described his death as a great loss of a father and highly respectable man whose impacts would be remembered through many generations.

“We have lost not just a market leader, but a community father, a man whose presence commanded respect and whose absence will echo for generations. His legacy of community service, youth empowerment, and sincere leadership will continue to guide us in the whole of Igbogbo.

“We pray that Allah (SWT) forgives his shortcomings, accepts his good deeds, and grants him eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus.

“May his memory remain a blessing to us all.”
