LG Elections 2025: Real Chairmanship Contenders Begin Race With Collection Of Party Forms -

As the 2025 council elections moved into swing, real contenders have started proving their worth by storming the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat at ACME, Ikeja, to collect the party nomination forms.

Between yesterday and today, a few of the aspirants from Ikorodu Local Government and Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA have obtained their forms and started signing the same with the party leaders.

As at the time of filing this report, Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA) who is vying to replace Builder Sesan Daini as the Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, was the only aspirant out of about 15 that showed interest, that collected the nomination form on Wednesday.

THE IMPACT gathered that the current council manager, Mr Kunle Bakare, who is also eyeing the Bayeku Road secretariat of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, has also collected his nomination form today. Also, Mr Nasir Titilope Andu, has also confirmed that he has obtained the form.

Also confirmed to have collected the party’s nomination form is the incumbent Chairman, Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba. It was also gathered that she has submitted the form.

For the Ikorodu LG or what is known as Ikorodu Central in the 57 LGA/LCDAs arrangement, it is gathered that Babawale Alogba, Princess Folashade Olabanji – Oba, Alhaji Kamaldeen Tijani Ajalogun and Prince Adedayo Ladega collected their forms on Wednesday, while Japheth Odesanya, Mr Oladele Ogunfodunrin and Mr Idowu Alli, obtained their nomination forms today.

Another aspirant, Abdulazeez Yussuf Owolewa, also confirmed to our reporter that he has obtained his nomination form.

Sources at ACME on Wednesday hinted that Mr Azeez Lamina was sighted at the APC office on Wednesday but our reporter cannot confirm if he has purchased his own party nomination form.

In Ikorodu North LCDA, Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, the current APC Divisional Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Olawale Ameen (Apanisile), current Vice Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon. Mathew Adesanya, and Mrs Soaga, THE IMPACT gathered have also collected the party’s nomination form.
