The Community Initiative for Igbogbo Development Union (CIIDU), a developmental group in Igbogbo, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu Division area of Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, has unveiled its 2024 agenda for the educational development of the community.

The CIIDU educational action plans were disclosed to THE IMPACT late Saturday night on the group’s platform by its President, Barr. Adeboye Dankuwo, a Director with the National Assembly, FCT – Abuja.

Recall that the developmental group, last week, supported 31 students in lgbogbo, who are in various tertiary institutions across Nigeria, with N10, 000 each, as educational support.

Dankuwo, following the news report by THE IMPACT, said that the financial assistance by the group was agreed upon at its general meeting in December, while also revealing that establishment of educational trust fund, research into the challenges confronting educational development in Igbogbo among others, were some of the plans of the group in 2024.

“The financial assistance was one of the numerous decisions of CIIDU, as resolved at our general meeting hosted sometimes last December, by one of our highly responsible and revered BOT members, and same was attended by many responsible CIIDU members”, Barr. Dankuwo said.

“That event (presentation of financial support to 31 students) was just a tip of the iceberg as other plans scheduled for this year include:

“Establishment of education foundation and trust fund, exclusively for our students at various levels; Researching into the causes of low performance in our public schools and methods of addressing them”, he said.

“Grouping of students into various classes and appointments of mentors and role models for them in those different classes; Advancing other areas of academic interests for them in addition to their present chosen fields.
“Taking students out of their immediate environment on workshops and seminars to broaden their academic ideas; meeting their counterparts from other parts of the world, and cross fertilisation of ideas and knowledge.

“Monitoring their performance in schools and encouraging them to do better by way of counselling and meeting their immediate needs”, Barr. Ddankuwo added.

CIDU President also stated that the group plans to get Igbogbo students into field study to explore modern education in ICT and encourage others.

“Getting our children into many other available fields of studies like aeronautic engineering, robotic engineering, AI etc.

“To encourage and motivate more of them into various other professional fields”, he added.
.

“These are our projects for 2024. With God, we will surely succeed.

“The leadership of CIDU is highly responsible and committed exclusively to the development of Igbogbo”, Barr. Adeboye assured.
